Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is
Matthew 7:21-29

Christian Faith is relation.
It is not simply doctrine, or a belief system but rather a way of living, marked by service, forgiveness, humility, compassion and action.
How is your faith put into practice?
If you can't answer quickly there may be more to life in Christ than you have known to this point.

Walk On
Luke 24:13-35

I am thinking of the following outline for this week:
We are living in a time of transition and it is filled with Grief, Hope, and Anticipation
How do we make a successful transition?
1. Participate - be involved
2. Anticipate - HOPE
3. Relate - share, we are in this together
4. Liberate - be a part of bringing others to freedom in Christ
What are your thoughts?

Good 'n' Fruity
Matthew 3:1-12

Sunday 12/2/07
"Be Prepared"
Mat. 24:36-44

Advent is a time 0f preparation and waiting. Preparation is still in vogue but waiting is no virtue in our culture. We have lost the ability to wait. The truth is that we don't even know how. The church is the community that anticipates creation coming to some climactic conclusion. Each year we celebrate God's arrival to begin the process.
What are your thoughts? I want to know what you think.

Here is the Direction I am taking this week;
1) Time is our most precious commodity
2) Everyone has the same amount
3) Who is deserving of our time ?- John Madden, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Spouse, Family, Boss, employees, friends, God, the Church, strangers, telemarketers, etc.
4) Are we arrogant with our time?
5) Freedom is the right to determine what to do with our time but, is our time really our own?
I want to know what you think.

3) Love people and use money; never use people and love money
4) How do we tell what or whom we are serving?
5) Testing and trust.
I want to know what you think.

Prayer 101 ; The Basics
Here are the ideas I am developing. Let me know your thoughts.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Prayer is the act of attempting to communicate, commonly with a sequence of words, with a
deity or spirit for the purpose of
worshiping,
requesting guidance, confessing
sins, or to express one's
thoughts and emotions.
Jesus taught that Prayer is
1. Intimate and Personal ("Daddy," "Abba")
2. Reverent (hallowed, holy)
3. for Provision (give us our daily bread)
4. Repentant, bathed in Forgiveness
5. for Protection (lead us not into temptation)

Sunday, July 22, 2007 ~ Rev. Dave Dinneen will be preaching
Luke 10: 38-42 & Colossians 1:15-28

Sunday's Gospel lesson recounts the story of Jesus' visit to the home of two sisters, Martha and Mary. While Martha remains distracted by the work of running the household and serving their guest, Mary drops everything to sit at Jesus' feet to listen to him.
--» What does this Gospel lesson tell us about a life of service versus a life of prayer?

Outline/Notes: "I Have Fallen and I Can't get up."
Luke 10: 25-37 & Deuteronomy 30:9-14
July 15, 2007
I am thinking of a couple of different directions for Sunday. Here are some thoughts;
I) Lawyers always ask the tough questions - what do we "have to" do? - who do we "have to" love.
II) The greatest commandment explained
III) Stewardship as an attitude.
a) what is yours is mine
b) what is mine is mine
c) what is mine is yours
IV) There is nothing good about Samaritans, - why must we love those who hate us?
V) Mercy is NOT getting what you deserve - the man deserves to be left in the ditch by the Samaritan
VI) What happened after the ditch man recovers?

Outline/Notes: "Travel Lite and Carry the Big Stick"
Luke 10:1-11;016-20 & Galatians 6:7-10
July 8, 2007
Here is an outline of what I am thinking about for Sunday.
I) Sent out - get off your behind
II) Stick together - keep up with your swim buddy
III) The harvest is plentiful but workers few - Two ants arguing over who eats the elephant - there are plenty of sinners to go around
IV) Don't get distracted - take only what you need and don't climb the social ladder
V) Keep moving - dust off your feet -don't waste time on a dry hole- don't worry about rejection
VI) Authority and Power - warning : handle with care, use it but remember it is dangerous and it is not yours
